Orchard Park Soccer Club Announces New Program for 2011

The Board of the Orchard Park Soccer Club and our Director of Coaching, Dan Krzyzanowicz, are excited to announce a new program for 2011. The program is the introduction of Select teams for ages U11/U12 and U13/U14 for both boys and girls.  This comes from a successful pilot program the club did with the U17 girls team in 2010.  The highlights of this program are detailed in the attached document.

As it is stated in the document, tryouts for both Select and Travel teams will occur at the same time.

The club announces a 3rd tryout.  If you made one or two of the previous tryouts, this one is optional.

Any registration questions should contact our Travel Registrar:

travelreg@orchardparksoccer.org

Tryout for U10 will be scheduled in September.  U15 - U19 age will be scheduled as needed.  If a tryout will take place for an age group, each registered player will be contacted regarding date, time and location.

To be eligible to play in the:
  • U10 age division, the player's birth date must lie in the range 8/1/00 -7/31/03
  • U11/U12 age division, the player's birth date must lie in the range 8/1/98 - 7/31/00
  • U13/U14 age division, the player's birth date must lie in the range 8/1/96 - 7/31/98

  • Play in the Travel League is more competitive than in the House League and requires a greater commitment, but emphasis is still on player development.
The travel season runs from the first week in May to the first week in August.

Games are played once a week, with a given age group always playing on the same night of the week. For example, U10 teams always play on Friday evenings. The travel commitment is modest with half the games home and half the games away (all travel is within WNY). Parents wishing their children to play soccer at the high school level are strongly encouraged to consider the travel program as it will help to provide them with the necessary skills.
