Our Program - House League

The emphasis of the house program is on development of basic soccer skills. Previous knowledge of soccer is not necessary. All children play at least 50% of every game. Beginners are welcome in all age groups. Typically a 45 minute practice session is immediately followed by a 45 minute game.

The house program runs in both the spring and fall. The school grade based divisions are: K - 1^st grade, 2^nd - 3^rd grade, 4^th - 5^thgrade, 6^th - 8^th grade. All teams are co-ed.

For children that are 3-4 years old, we recommend the Start Smart Program that is run by the Town of Orchard Park Recreation Department. Please click here for details.

The club uses a reversible jersey that is reusable from session to session. The cost of the uniform, which consists of socks, shorts, and the reversible jersey, is about $35. In addition the uniform cost, there is a registration fee of $50 (early) or $60 (regular).

Payments must be made in full for players to be placed on a team. (Our focus is for the kids to play, so if you are in need of financial assistance please let us know. Everything is kept confidential).

FALL PROGRAM
The fall program typically runs from early September until late October. Registration occurs in June/July. Games/practices are held on Saturday.

SPRING PROGRAM
The spring program typically runs from May through June. Registration occurs in February/March. Games and practices are held on Friday evenings for K - 1st grade and 2nd - 3rd grade groups. Games and practices for the 4th - 5th grade, 6th - 8th grade groups are held on Saturdays.

This soccer club is run completely by volunteers. Please consider coaching a team! The club provides training and support.

2011 Indoor Coaches Clinics at Sahlen's Sports Park will be sent to all coaches via e-mail.

WINTER TRAINING SESSIONS
While OPSC does not run any soccer programs during the Winter months, we highly recommend the indoor programs run at Sahlen's Sportspark (655-PLAY, www.sahlensportspark.com). Please contact them for further details on the Winter Sessions.
