The OPSC Academy Training Program
The Orchard Park Soccer Club is pleased to announce the fourth year of our OPSC Academy Training program for our club’s travel players. The training program is run by Jim Harrigan who holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Director of Coaching Diploma, a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) C coaching license, and is currently a coach on the staff of New York State West Soccer Association’s Olympic Development Program (ODP).
The OPSC Academy Training program is sponsored by the club at no cost to our travel players, and is broken out into two different age groups. The training is held starting Thursday January 4th and goes through April 26th at Sahlens Sports Park located at 7070 Seneca Street, Elma, NY.
Ages U12 and younger
Thursdays from 5:00-6:00 on field #4
Thursdays from 7:00-8:00 on field #4
Players will need to bring a soccer ball and wear indoor soccer shoes/sneakers and shin pads.
This additional training is ideal for players looking to improve their technical skills and knowledge of the game in a challenging and fun training environment. Please come out and see what the OPSC Academy Training program has to offer!
My daughter, (Caroline McCooey) has played OP House league soccer for at least 4 yrs (current 8th grader at OPMS and 13 yrs old). She will be trying out for OP high school soccer this year and she could use all the practice and new skills to work on during the winter. Would she be able to participate in this program beginning tomorrow at Sahlens?
Hi Margaret, sorry for the delay in responding but we just saw your message. Yes, your daughter can definitely attend the training seeing as she is at that level. I would also encourage her to think about our travel soccer program. Travel soccer prepares the children for the school soccer programs and the travel is only here in WNY playing teams from other local soccer clubs. If you would like more information I can have our girls travel coordinator contact you. Thank you.
I would love information about House Registration for this spring and summer and info about travel opportunities for my son as well. He is 12, just turned and loved playing for opsc last season.
Hi Jamie, Spring/Summer House registration should be opening up very soon. Tryouts for travel teams were last Fall and the teams have been formed but I am forwarding on your question to our boys travel coordinator to see if there are any openings. Thanks.
Hi Jamie, what year was your son born in? Thanks.
