What programs does OPSC offer?
We offer year-round soccer for ages 2 to 19: Little Kickers (our youngest players), House league (recreational, in both Spring and Fall), Travel (competitive, in the BWNYJSL), and seasonal Camps, Clinics, and academies such as our Goalkeeping Academy. See the Programs menu for details on each.
How do I register?
Registration is handled through GotSport. Each program page has a direct registration link plus current dates and fees – start on the program page for the group you want, then click through to register.
How do I know which age group my child is in?
Players are grouped by birth year. Beginning this year, the age cutoff is August 1. Exact placements are typically sorted during registration. To check ahead, see the Age Matrix under the House menu.
What is the difference between House and Travel?
House is our recreational program – local, lower commitment, focused on learning and fun, offered in both Spring and Fall. Travel is competitive, with teams that play other clubs across Western New York in the BWNYJSL from roughly May through August. Many players do both at different times of year.
When do the seasons run?
House runs in the Spring and again in the Fall. Travel runs from late spring through summer. Camps and clinics run mainly in the summer. Specific dates and deadlines are on each program page – House has a firm registration deadline, after which players go on a wait list.
What does it cost?
Fees vary by program and are listed on each program page at registration. OPSC works to keep costs reasonable and reinvests in fields, equipment, referees, and coaching.
What equipment does my child need?
For most programs: cleats, shin guards, a size-appropriate ball, and a water bottle. Uniforms or jerseys are provided or available depending on the program – check the program page or ask your coach.
How are teams and coaches assigned?
Teams are formed after registration closes so rosters and schedules can be balanced and finalized. Most of our coaches are dedicated volunteers, supported by year-round coaching education.
What happens in bad weather?
If a game or practice is canceled, your coach will notify your team as early as possible through your team communication app. When in doubt, check with your coach.
Is OPSC affiliated with any organizations?
Yes – OPSC is affiliated with BWNYJSL, NYSWYSA, and US Soccer.
