The OPSC Open Club Training Program
The Orchard Park Soccer Club is pleased to announce the second year of our OPSC Open Club Training program for our club’s travel players. The training program is run by Jim Harrigan who holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Director of Coaching Diploma, a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) C coaching license, and is currently a coach on the staff of New York State West Soccer Association’s Olympic Development Program (ODP).
The OPSC Open Club Training program is sponsored by the club at no cost to our travel players, and is broken out into two different age groups:
Age Group Day Time Dates
13 -19 year olds Thursdays 6:30pm – 7:45pm January 7th through April 28th
8 – 12 year olds Fridays 5:30pm – 6:30pm January 8th through April 1st
8 – 12 year olds Tuesdays 6:00pm – 7:00pm April 5th through April 26th
The training for both groups will be held on their respective days on field #4 at Sahlens Sports Park in Elma starting Thursday January 7th and going through Thursday April 28th except during school break weeks of February 15th and March 21st. Players will need to bring a soccer ball and wear indoor soccer shoes/sneakers and shin pads. Due to field availability at Sahlens, the 8 – 12 year old group will switch from Fridays to Tuesdays in the first full week of April and will remain on Tuesdays for the remainder of the month.
This additional training is ideal for players looking to improve their technical skills and knowledge of the game in a challenging and fun training environment. Please come out and see what the OPSC Open Club Training program has to offer!
